After 817 days and 72 games Rodrigo de la Vega rocked Mirandela by handing in his resignation. Though results had not been going Mirandela's way it had been expected that de la Vega would see the team through. Despite being bottom of the table with only a single point afer 6 games there was still very little pressure on the Mexican manager's job.
de la Vega was followed out by close friend and coach Nuno Luis.
"It was not an easy decision to make. I have a lot of fondness for the club and together we have achieved great finishes the past two seasons. But I feel I can't take the club any further and by hanging on I would only be harming the club, the players and the fans."
